What Disabled Teachers Want You To Know

This discussion will cover their views on education, interpersonal relations, ableism, microaggressions and more. Participants will gain insight into the lived experiences of five talented teaching artists who identify with a disability. You will leave the training with an understanding of the importance of language when talking about disability and when talking to someone who identifies with a disability. This training opens the door to neurotypical teaching artists gaining insight and understanding of what it means to be a teaching artist who identifies with a disability and how you can honor, relate to and support your fellow teaching artists creating theater communities that are accessible for all.
